लोके क्षीणे क्षयं यान्ति भावा लोकप्रवर्तका: । युगक्षयकृता धर्माः प्रार्थनानि विकुर्वते,लोकके क्षीण होनेपर उसके प्रवर्तक भावोंका भी क्षय हो जाता है। युग-क्षयजनित धर्म मनुष्यकी अभीष्ट कामनाओंके विपरीत फल देते हैं
loke kṣīṇe kṣayaṁ yānti bhāvā lokapravartakāḥ | yugakṣayakṛtā dharmāḥ prārthanāni vikurvate ||
Cuando el mundo declina, se marchitan también los impulsos y disposiciones que ponen en movimiento a la sociedad. Y cuando una era llega a su fin, las formas de dharma moldeadas por esa decadencia tuercen las aspiraciones humanas, otorgando frutos contrarios a lo que se busca.
भीम उवाच
Bhīma observes that in times of societal decline, the inner motives that sustain order weaken, and age-conditioned ‘dharma’ can become corrupted—so that actions and prayers no longer yield fitting results but instead produce outcomes opposite to one’s intentions.
In Bhīma’s speech, he reflects on the degeneration of the age: as the world’s vitality diminishes, the forces that guide people toward proper conduct fade, and distorted norms arise that frustrate human aims.
