Gandhamādana-praveśa and the Sudden Storm (गन्धमादनप्रवेशः — चण्डवातवर्षवर्णनम्)
mamemaṁ bhagavan bhāraṁ vyapanetuṁ tvam arhasi | śaraṇāgatāsmi te deva prasādaṁ kuru me vibho ||
The verse highlights śaraṇāgati (taking refuge): when overwhelmed, one approaches the divine with humility, asking for the removal of inner and outer burdens through grace (prasāda) rather than through pride or coercion.
Lomāśa addresses a revered divine figure, expressing personal distress as a ‘burden’ and formally seeking protection and favor, signaling a moment of dependence and devotional appeal within the Vana Parva context.
