Gandhamādana-praveśa and the Sudden Storm (गन्धमादनप्रवेशः — चण्डवातवर्षवर्णनम्)
When adharma accumulates in society—often through oppressive or unrighteous rulers—the very world-order is portrayed as destabilized. Restoration requires divine support and the re-establishment of dharma so that the Earth can ‘stand’ in balance.
In Lokamaśa’s narration, the Earth is personified and appeals to the Lord for help. She says she is crushed by an unbearable burden and asks for grace so she may remain stable and endure for a long time.
