Raibhya-putrayoḥ satra-vṛttāntaḥ — The Satra Episode of Raibhya’s Sons

Parāvasu and Arvāvasu

Educational Q&A

Dharma in ritual life requires right organization: a sacrifice succeeds when a capable leader appoints competent assistants and ensures the rite is completed properly, reflecting responsibility and disciplined cooperation.

Bṛhaddyumna, described as wise, selects Raibhya’s two sons—Arvāvasu and Parāvasu—as helpers to carry out a satra (a prolonged sacrificial session), indicating preparation and delegation for the successful completion of the rite.
