Educational Q&A

The verse teaches that certain tīrthas are regarded by the wise as ‘gateways to heaven,’ implying that spiritual ascent is supported by purity, reverence, and dharmic conduct associated with pilgrimage and sacred places.

Lomaśa points out a specific holy ford on the Yamunā called Plakṣāvataraṇa and praises its exceptional sanctity, describing it as an entrance to the heavenly realm according to sages.
