Somaka–Jantu Ākhyāna: Desire-Driven Sacrifice and Shared Karmic Consequence
सव्ये पाणौ गृहीत्वा तु याजको5पि सम कर्षति । कुररीणामिवार्तानां समाकृष्य तु त॑ं सुतम्
savye pāṇau gṛhītvā tu yājako 'pi sama-karṣati | kurarīṇām ivārtānāṁ samākṛṣya tu taṁ sutam ||
Sujetándolo por la mano izquierda, el sacerdote también lo arrastra; y, tirando de aquel hijo hacia sí, lanza un grito como el de un ave kurarī afligida—imagen de una angustia impotente que muestra cómo el apego y el temor pueden empujar incluso al versado en los ritos a la dureza y la coerción.
