A righteous king, when distressed, is steadied by wise counsel and directed toward dharmic action. The sage’s consolation and instruction emphasize restoring order through sanctioned ritual, undertaken with proper preparation and responsibility.
A Bhārgava sage (identified in the passage as Cyavana) reassures Yudhiṣṭhira and offers to have him perform a sacrifice. He instructs the king to gather and arrange the necessary ritual materials, indicating a transition from grief or uncertainty to purposeful, dharma-aligned action.
