Bhāgīratha’s Tapas and the Petition to Gaṅgā (गङ्गावतरण-प्रसङ्गः)
धात्रीश्चैकेकश: प्रादात् पुत्ररक्षणतत्पर: । ततः कालेन महता समुत्तस्थुर्महाबला:,फिर पुत्रोंकी रक्षाके लिये तत्पर हो सबके लिये पृथक्-पृथक् धायें नियुक्त कर दीं। तदनन्तर दीर्घकालके पश्चात् उस अनुपम तेजस्वी नरेशके साठ हजार महाबली पुत्र उन घड़ोंमेंसे निकल आये। युधिष्छिर! राजर्षि सगरके वे सभी पुत्र भगवान् शिवकी कृपासे ही उत्पन्न हुए थे
dhātrīś caikaikaśaḥ prādāt putrarakṣaṇatatparaḥ | tataḥ kālena mahatā samuttiṣṭhur mahābalāḥ ||
Resuelto a salvaguardar a los hijos, designó nodrizas para cada uno por separado. Y luego, tras un largo transcurso del tiempo, a su debido momento, surgieron aquellos hijos de gran poder—cumpliéndose así la determinación del rey de proteger y criar a su descendencia.
