सगरोपाख्यानम् (Sagara-Upākhyāna): Śiva’s boon and the extraordinary birth of Sagara’s progeny

Dijo Lomaśa: “Oh, el mejor de los brahmanes, nadie más tiene el poder de refrenarlo. Salvo tú, oh afortunado, no hay quien pueda detener esto. Por tanto, ve y ponle fin.”
लोमश उवाच
When cosmic or social order is threatened by uncontrolled anger and pride, those with spiritual discipline and authority have a duty to intervene. The verse highlights responsibility (dharma) matched to capability (śakti/tapas): the one who can prevent harm should act.
Lomaśa urges a foremost Brahmin-sage to restrain a powerful force (contextually, the Vindhya mountain) that is disrupting the celestial paths. The appeal stresses that no one else is capable, so the sage must go and stop the disturbance.
