Agastya’s Injunction
अवध्य: सर्वभूतानां बलिश्चापि महासुर: । वामन वपुराश्रित्य त्रैलोक्याद् भ्रंशितस्त्वया,“सम्पूर्ण प्राणियोंके लिये अवध्य महादैत्य बलिको भी आपने ही वामनरूप धारण करके त्रिलोकीके राज्यसे वंचित किया
avadhyaḥ sarvabhūtānāṁ baliścāpi mahāsuraḥ | vāmana-vapur āśritya trailokyād bhraṁśitas tvayā |
Dijo Lomaśa: «Incluso Bali, el poderoso asura al que se tenía por invulnerable ante todos los seres, fue privado por Ti del señorío de los tres mundos, cuando asumiste la forma del enano Vāmana.»
लोगश उवाच
No worldly power is absolute: even one considered invulnerable can be brought down when divine order (dharma) reasserts itself. The verse underscores how pride in strength and sovereignty is checked by a higher moral-cosmic authority.
Lomaśa cites the well-known episode of Viṣṇu as Vāmana, who, by taking a humble form, displaced King Bali from dominion over the three worlds—using this as an illustrative precedent within his discourse.
