Udyoga Parva Adhyāya 58 — Saṃjaya’s Audience and Kṛṣṇa’s Deterrent Counsel (संजय-प्रवेशः कृष्णवाक्यं च)
काज्चनं पादपीठं तु पार्थो मे प्रादिशत् तदा । तदहं पाणिना स्पृष्टवा ततो भूमावुपाविशम्
kāñcanaṃ pādapīṭhaṃ tu pārtho me prādiśat tadā | tad ahaṃ pāṇinā spṛṣṭvā tato bhūmāv upāviśam ||
Dijo Sañjaya: «Entonces Pārtha (Arjuna) me indicó un escabel de oro para que me sentara. Yo apenas lo toqué con la mano y luego me senté en el suelo». El momento subraya la humildad y la mesura de Sañjaya ante un príncipe venerado, al escoger la sencillez en lugar del lujo y mostrar respeto con una conducta modesta.
