Chapter 49: Sañjaya’s Enumeration of the Pāṇḍava Coalition (पाण्डवसैन्यसमागम-वर्णनम्)

द्रपदश्न महातेजा बलेन महता वृतः । त्यक्तात्मा पाण्डवार्थाय योत्स्यमानो व्यवस्थित:,महातेजस्वी राजा ट्रपद विशाल सेनाके साथ आये हैं और पाण्डवोंके लिये अपने शरीर और प्राणोंकी परवा न करके युद्ध करनेके लिये उद्यत हैं

Transliteration

sañjaya uvāca | drupadaś ca mahātejā balena mahatā vṛtaḥ | tyaktātmā pāṇḍavārthāya yotsyamāno vyavasthitaḥ ||

Translation

Sañjaya dijo: «Drupada, rey de gran esplendor, llegó rodeado por una vasta fuerza. Por la causa de los Pāṇḍava se dispuso a combatir, renunciando a toda preocupación por su propia vida—poniendo la lealtad y el deber por encima de la seguridad personal.»
