भीष्म–दुर्योधनसंवादः — शिखण्डिनं न हन्तुं कारणकथनम्
Amba-ākhyāna prologue
योत्स्येते बलिनौ शूरौ परं शक््त्या क्षयिष्यत: । पाण्डवोंके लिये महान् पराक्रम करनेवाले बलवान् शूरवीर अज और भोज दोनों महारथी हैं। वे सम्पूर्ण शक्ति लगाकर युद्ध करेंगे और अपने पुरुषार्थका परिचय देंगे ।।
yotsyete balinau śūrau paraṁ śaktyā kṣayiṣyataḥ |
Bhīṣma declara que dos guerreros poderosos y heroicos combatirán empleando hasta el último aliento de su fuerza, resueltos a causar destrucción en la batalla. Se subraya su entrega total al deber marcial y la fiera determinación con que mostrarán su valor por la causa de los Pāṇḍavas.
