Bhīṣma’s Appraisal of Pāṇḍava-Alliance Warriors (Śikhaṇḍin, Dhṛṣṭadyumna, and Allied Kings)
गाण्डीवं च धर्नुर्दिव्यं ते चाश्वा वातरंहस: । अभेद्यं कवचं दिव्यमक्षय्यौ च महेषुधी
gāṇḍīvaṃ ca dhanuḥ divyaṃ te cāśvā vātarāṃhasaḥ | abhedyaṃ kavacaṃ divyam akṣayyau ca maheṣudhī ||
Dijo Bhīṣma: «Posees el arco divino Gāṇḍīva; tus caballos son veloces como el viento. Tienes también una armadura divina impenetrable y dos grandes aljabas cuyo caudal de flechas jamás se agota.» En esta alabanza del equipo de Arjuna, la epopeya muestra cómo un poder y una protección extraordinarios se reúnen para una causa justa, y recuerda que tales dones acrecientan la responsabilidad de obrar con contención y conforme al dharma.
