तृतीयं पारणं प्राप्प द्वादशाहफलं लभेत् । वसत्यमरसंकाशो वर्षाण्ययुतशो दिवि
tṛtīyaṃ pāraṇaṃ prāpya dvādaśāhaphalaṃ labhet | vasaty amarasaṅkāśo varṣāṇy ayutaśo divi ||
Dijo Vaiśampāyana: «Al completar la tercera observancia (pāraṇa), el hombre obtiene un mérito igual al de un sacrificio de doce días. Resplandeciente como los inmortales, mora en el cielo por decenas de miles de años».
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse teaches that disciplined completion of religious observances (pāraṇa) yields merit comparable to major Vedic sacrifices, emphasizing the ethical power of self-restraint and faithful fulfillment of vows.
Vaiśampāyana is describing the spiritual results of successive completed observances; here he states the reward for completing the third pāraṇa—attaining the fruit of a twelve-day sacrifice and long residence in heaven with godlike radiance.
