Shloka 19

शुचि: शीलान्विताचार: शुक्लवासा जितेन्द्रिय: । संस्कृत: सर्वशास्त्रज्ञ: श्रद्दधानोइनसूयक:

śuciḥ śīlānvita-ācāraḥ śukla-vāsā jitendriyaḥ | saṃskṛtaḥ sarva-śāstra-jñaḥ śraddadhāno 'n-asūyakaḥ ||

Vaiśaṃpāyana dijo: «Debe nombrarse como recitador a un hombre sabio, puro por dentro y por fuera, dotado de buen carácter y recta conducta, vestido con ropas blancas y limpias, dueño de sí, bien formado y versado en la esencia de todos los śāstra; fiel y libre de la costumbre de buscar faltas. A tal erudito, honrado y sostenido con dones y respeto, le corresponde transmitir la narración sagrada de un modo que sostenga el dharma».
