राजवृत्त-रक्षा-प्रणिधि-षाड्गुण्योपदेशः
Royal Conduct, Protection, Intelligence, and Policy Measures
स्त्रियश्चापुरुषा मार्ग सर्वालड्कारभूषिता: । निर्भया: प्रतिपद्यन्ते यदि रक्षति भूमिप:
striyaś cāpuruṣā mārgaṁ sarvālaṅkārabhūṣitāḥ | nirbhayāḥ pratipadyante yadi rakṣati bhūmipaḥ ||
Dijo Vasumanā: Cuando el rey, protector de la tierra, resguarda de veras su reino, las mujeres adornadas con toda clase de joyas pueden transitar los caminos sin temor, aun sin un hombre que las acompañe. El verso presenta la seguridad pública como medida visible de la realeza conforme al dharma: el deber del soberano se prueba en una sociedad donde los vulnerables se mueven libremente y la paz se mantiene por una protección justa, no por la fuerza privada.
