अध्याय ३५१ — उञ्छवृत्ति-व्रतसिद्धेः मानुषस्य परमगतिः
Sūrya–Nāga Dialogue on the Perfected Gleaner-Ascetic
भविष्यति महासत्त्व ख्यातिश्नाप्पतुला तव । शनैश्वरः सूर्यपुत्रो भविष्यति मनुर्महान्,“महान् शक्तिशाली मुनीश्वर! जगत्में तुम्हारी अनुपम ख्याति होगी। वत्स! जब सूर्यपुत्र शनैश्वर मन्वन्तरके प्रवर्तक हो महामनुके पदपर प्रतिष्ठित होंगे, उस मन्वन्तरमें तुम्हीं मेरे कृपाप्रसादसे मन्वादि गणोंमें प्रधान होओगे। इसमें संशय नहीं है
vaiśaṃpāyana uvāca | bhaviṣyati mahāsattva khyātiḥ anupatulā tava | śanaiścaraḥ sūryaputro bhaviṣyati manur mahān |
Dijo Vaiśampāyana: «Oh magnánimo, tu fama será incomparable en el mundo. Con el tiempo, Śanaiścara —hijo del Sol— llegará a ser el gran Manu, inaugurador de un Manvantara. En ese Manvantara, por mi gracia, quedarás establecido como el primero entre los caudillos que comienzan con Manu; de ello no hay duda».
