अथ किंचिदपश्यन्तौ दानवौ मधुकैटभौ । पुनराजम्मतुस्तत्र वेगितौ पश्यतां च तो
atha kiñcid apaśyantau dānavau madhukaiṭabhau | punar ājagmatustatra vegitau paśyatāṃ ca tau ||
Vaiśampāyana dijo: Entonces, al no ver nada de importancia, los dos dánavas, Madhu y Kaiṭabha, se apresuraron a volver a aquel mismo lugar, aun bajo la mirada de quienes los observaban.
वैशग्पायन उवाच
The verse hints that lack of true discernment (apaśyantau) leads beings driven by impulse (vegitau) to repeat the same misguided return, illustrating how delusion sustains adharmic patterns rather than enabling a wiser, dharmic choice.
Madhu and Kaiṭabha, finding nothing (or failing to perceive anything) where they are, rush back again to the same place; the narrator notes this return occurs while they are being observed.
