Nāgendra–Brāhmaṇa Saṃvāda: Praśna-vidhi and Dharmic Approach on the Gomatī Riverbank
ददृशाते5रविन्दस्थ॑ ब्रह्माणममितप्रभम् । सृजन्तं प्रथम वेदां श्वतुरश्चारुविग्रहान्
dadṛśāte 'ravindasthe brahmāṇam amitaprabham | sṛjantaṃ prathamaṃ vedān caturāṃś cāruvigrahān ||
Entonces vieron a Brahmā, de resplandor inconmensurable, sentado en un asiento de loto y entregado a la obra de la creación; y junto a él vieron también a los cuatro Vedas, que habían asumido hermosas formas corporales. La escena subraya la visión ética del Mahābhārata: el orden cósmico y el dharma se fundan en el saber sagrado (Veda) y en la acción deliberada del Creador, no en el azar.
वैशग्पायन उवाच
Dharma and cosmic order are portrayed as rooted in Brahmā’s creative governance and in the Vedas as living, authoritative knowledge—suggesting that right conduct is aligned with revealed wisdom and the structure of creation.
The observers (as indicated by “they saw”) witness Brahmā seated on a lotus, actively engaged in creation, and they also see the four Vedas nearby, depicted as taking on beautiful forms.
