अग्नीषोमोत्पत्तिः

Agni–Soma Origin and the Brahmāgnīṣomīya Doctrine

तस्माद ब्रह्मविदो वेदान्‌ नाधीयन्तेडतिवायति । वायोर्वायुभयं हाक्तं ब्रह्म तत्पीडितं॑ भवेत्‌

tasmād brahmavido vedān nādhīyante ’tivāyati | vāyor vāyubhayaṃ hy uktaṃ brahma tat pīḍitaṃ bhavet ||

Dijo Bhishma: «Por eso, quienes conocen a Brahman no recitan los Vedas cuando sopla una tormenta de viento violenta. Se dice que el Veda es el aliento mismo del Señor; si se recita en tal momento, se afirma que el viento ‘teme al viento’ —esto es, se perturba por su propia turbulencia— y ese Brahman sagrado, encarnado como Veda, también sufre daño».
