Janaka–Sulabhā Dialogue on Mokṣa and Non-attachment
नावेदनिष्ठस्थ जनस्य राजन् प्रदेयमेतत् परमं त्वया भवेत् | विधित्समानाय विबोधकारण प्रबोधहेतो: प्रणतस्य शासनम्,राजन! जो मनुष्य वेदमें श्रद्धा रखनेवाला न हो, उसे इस उत्तम ज्ञानका उपदेश तुम्हें नहीं करना चाहिये। जिसे बोधके लिये अधिक प्यास हो तथा जो जिज्ञासुभावसे शरणमें आया हो, वही इस उपदेशको सुननेका अधिकारी है
na veda-niṣṭhasya janasya rājan pradeyam etat paramaṃ tvayā bhavet | vidhitsamānāya vibodha-kāraṇa prabodha-hetoḥ praṇatasya śāsanam ||
Dijo Vasiṣṭha: «Oh Rey, no debes impartir esta instrucción suprema a quien no esté firmemente asentado en la reverencia al Veda. Esta enseñanza ha de darse a quien busca el despertar, a quien anhela comprensión y a quien se ha acercado con sincera humildad para ser iluminado».
