Śānti-parva Adhyāya 30: Nārada–Parvata Samaya-bhaṅga, Śāpa, and the Marriage of Sukumārī

नारदं हृच्छयस्तूर्ण सहसैवाभ्यपद्यत । उसकी उस सेवा तथा अनुपम रूप-सौन्दर्यसे नारदके हृदयमें सहसा कामभावका संचार हो गया

nāradaṁ hṛcchayaḥ tūrṇaṁ sahasaivābhyapadyata |

Dijo Śrī Kṛṣṇa: En ese mismo instante, Kāma, el dios del deseo, veloz y repentino, se apoderó del corazón de Nārada. Al ver el servicio devoto que se le ofrecía y la belleza incomparable de aquella forma, el anhelo surgió en él de manera inesperada—mostrando cómo incluso un asceta célebre puede ser puesto a prueba cuando los sentidos se encuentran con poderosos objetos de atracción, y cómo la vigilancia es necesaria para el dominio de sí.
