परिव्राजक-आचारः (Conduct of the Wandering Renunciant) — Mahābhārata, Śānti-parva 269
तेज: क्षमा शान्तिरनामयं शुभं तथाविध॑ व्योम सनातन ध्रुवम् एतै: सर्वर्गम्यते बुद्धिनेत्रै- स्तस्मै नमो ब्रह्मणे ब्राह्मणाय,उस आकाशके समान असंग, अविनाशी और सदा एकरस तत्त्वका ज्ञान-नेत्रोंवाले सभी पुरुष तेज, क्षमा और शान्तिरूप शुभ साथधनोंके द्वारा साक्षात्कार करते हैं। जो वास्तवमें ब्रह्मवेत्तासे अभिन्न है, उस परब्रह्म परमात्माको नमस्कार है
tejaḥ kṣamā śāntir anāmayaṃ śubhaṃ tathāvidhaṃ vyoma sanātanaṃ dhruvam | etaiḥ sarvair gamyate buddhi-netrais tasmai namo brahmaṇe brāhmaṇāya ||
Kapila enseña que la Realidad suprema—como el espacio, desapegada, imperecedera, eternamente antigua e inmutable—es realizada por quienes tienen el ojo interior purificado por la sabiduría. Tales videntes llegan a ella mediante disciplinas auspiciosas encarnadas como resplandor espiritual (tejas), paciencia (kṣamā) y paz (śānti); y por ello ofrece reverencia a ese Brahman, el principio más alto conocido por el verdadero conocedor de Brahman.
कपिल उवाच
Brahman, described as space-like (unattached), eternal and unchanging, is realized not by external rites alone but by the purified ‘eye’ of wisdom; the practical supports named here are tejas (disciplined inner radiance), kṣamā (forbearance), and śānti (peace), which make the mind fit for direct realization.
In the Śānti Parva’s instruction on liberation and right conduct, Kapila speaks as a teacher of brahma-vidyā, describing the qualities by which seekers come to know the supreme Reality and concluding with a reverential salutation to Brahman.
