Instruction on the Cessation of Craving

This line is a colophon that signals the completion of the chapter; it does not itself present a new teaching. Its function is to locate the discourse within Śānti Parva’s Mokṣa-dharma section and to mark the end of the Gokapilīya episode.
The narrative/discourse attributed to the Gokapilīya section has concluded, and the text formally closes the chapter by naming the larger work (Mahābhārata), the parva (Śānti), the subsection (Mokṣa-dharma), and the chapter count (269th).
