Gautama–Yama Saṃvāda: Mātṛ-Pitṛ-Ṛṇa (Debt to Parents) and Śubha-Loka Attainment
भवत् तपोविघधातो वा यदि स्याद् विरमे ततः । यदि वास्ति कथायोगो योडयं प्रश्नो मयेरित:
bhavat tapovighadhāto vā yadi syād virame tataḥ | yadi vāsti kathāyogo yo 'yaṃ praśno mayeritaḥ |
Bhīṣma dijo: «Si mis preguntas han de perturbar vuestras austeridades, desistiré al instante. Pero si tenéis ocio para la conversación, resolved, os lo ruego, la cuestión que he planteado. Deseo oír con claridad la causa de la esperanza y la medida verdadera de la capacidad de uno. Puesto que estáis siempre entregados al tapas, reuniros y deliberad sobre este asunto».
