Vyāghra–Gomāyu Saṃvāda (व्याघ्रगोमायु संवाद) — Testing Character Beneath Appearances

Unchecked anger and intolerance can quickly turn judgment into a desire for violent punishment; dharma requires restraint and careful discernment before deciding on a person's death.
A ruler (likened to or identified with a lion in the accompanying narration) hears of someone's capricious or improper behavior, becomes indignant, cannot bear it, and consequently resolves that the offender should be killed.
