तौ हि संजय दुःखार्तो विज्ञाप्यौ वचनाद्धि मे । इष्टं भृत्या भृता: सम्यग् भू: प्रशास्ता ससागरा
tau hi sañjaya duḥkhārto vijñāpyau vacanād dhi me | iṣṭaṃ bhṛtyā bhṛtāḥ samyag bhūḥ praśāstā sasāgarā ||
Dijo Sañjaya: «Oh, Sañjaya, esos dos—mis padres—quedarán sin duda abatidos por el dolor al oír de mi muerte. Por ello, a mi ruego, debes transmitirles este mensaje: que cumplí debidamente los sacrificios prescritos, que sostuve como es debido a quienes dependían de mí, y que goberné bien la tierra, hasta el océano que la ciñe.»
