मोघं दुर्योधनश्षक्रे तत्रा भूद् विस््मयो महान् । परंतु महाबली दुर्योधनको इससे तनिक भी घबराहट नहीं हुई। उसने फुर्तीसे इधर-उधर होकर उस प्रहारको व्यर्थ कर दिया। यह देख वहाँ सब लोगोंको महान् आश्चर्य हुआ ।।
sa tu moghā gadā rājan patantī bhīmacoditā | cālayāmāsa pṛthivīṃ mahānirghātaniḥsvanā ||
Sañjaya dijo: Oh rey, aquella maza, arrojada por Bhîmasena, cayó sin efecto. Al desplomarse en vano, resonó como el estruendo de un rayo y sacudió la tierra con un rugido tremendo nacido del impacto. Al verlo, todos los presentes quedaron sobrecogidos de asombro.
