भीममाह्दयमाने तु कुरुराजे महात्मनि । प्रादुरासन् सुघोराणि रूपाणि विविधान्युत,महामनस्वी कुरुराज दुर्योधन जब भीमसेनका आह्वान करने लगा, उस समय नाना प्रकारके भयंकर अपशकुन प्रकट हुए
bhīmam āhvayamāne tu kururāje mahātmani | prādurāsan sughorāṇi rūpāṇi vividhāny uta ||
Dijo Sañjaya: Cuando el rey de los Kuru, el magnánimo Duryodhana, comenzó a desafiar a Bhīma, se manifestaron muchos portentos de una atrocidad extrema y de diversas clases. En el clima moral de la guerra, tales señales ominosas anuncian que la intención destructora ha madurado y que se acerca la ruina inevitable nacida del adharma.
