चरणौ दहामानौ च नाचिन्तयदनिन्दिता । कुर्वाणा दुष्करं कर्म महर्षिप्रियकाम्यया,उस साध्वीने अपने जलते हुए चरणोंकी कुछ भी परवा नहीं की। वह महर्षिका प्रिय करनेकी इच्छासे दुष्कर कार्य कर रही थी
caraṇau dahāmānau ca nācintayad aninditā | kurvāṇā duṣkaraṃ karma maharṣipriyakāmyayā ||
Dijo Vaiśampāyana: Aunque sus pies ardían, la mujer irreprochable no les prestó atención. Deseosa de complacer al gran sabio, emprendió un acto sumamente difícil—soportando el dolor sin vacilar en su determinación.
