अध्याय ३: कृपस्य दुर्योधनं प्रति नीत्युपदेशः
Kṛpa’s Counsel to Duryodhana
सो<वतीर्य रथात्तूर्ण गदापाणिरयुध्यत । युद्धस्थलमें सामने खड़े हुए उन योद्धाओंके साथ जूझते समय भीमसेनको बड़ा क्रोध हुआ। वे तुरंत ही रथसे उतरकर हाथमें गदा ले उन सबके साथ युद्ध करने लगे
so 'vatīrya rathāt tūrṇaṃ gadāpāṇir ayudhyata |
Dijo Sañjaya: Entonces Bhīmasena, descendiendo con presteza de su carro, con la maza en la mano, entró en la lucha. Aun mientras forcejeaba con los guerreros que tenía delante en el campo de batalla, su ira creció; eligió el combate cercano y, empuñando su gada, los enfrentó a todos cara a cara.
