धृतराष्ट्रविलापः — Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Lament and Inquiry (Śalya-parva, Adhyāya 2)
एवमेव हतो द्रोण: सर्वेषामेव पश्यताम । युद्धके मुहानेपर तुमलोगोंके देखते-देखते भीष्मजी किरीटधारी अर्जुनके हाथसे मारे गये। इसी प्रकार द्रोणाचार्यका भी तुम सब लोगोंके सामने ही संहार हो गया
evam eva hato droṇaḥ sarveṣām eva paśyatām |
Dijo Vaiśampāyana: «Así fue abatido Droṇa, ante los ojos de todos. Tal como Bhīṣma cayó en la batalla mientras todos miraban, así también Droṇācārya encontró su destrucción abiertamente, a la vista de los guerreros congregados».
