शल्यवधे कौरवसेनाभङ्गः, भीमस्य गदायुद्धं, दुर्योधनस्य समाह्वानम्

एते विनिहता: सर्वे प्रस्कन्ना: पाण्डवाहिनीम् । दुर्योधनने कहा--मैंने पहले ही इन्हें बहुत मना किया था, परंतु इन लोगोंने मेरी बात नहीं मानी और पाण्डवसेनामें घुसकर ये प्राय: सब-के-सब मारे गये ।। शकुनिरुवाच न भर्तु: शासन वीरा रणे कुर्वन्त्यमर्षिता:
ete vinihatāḥ sarve praskannāḥ pāṇḍavāhinīm |
Duryodhana dijo: «Todos éstos han sido muertos, pues se precipitaron temerariamente dentro del ejército de los Pāṇḍava. Ya antes los había amonestado con severidad, pero no atendieron mi consejo; al internarse en las filas enemigas, han sido casi por completo segados.»
