शल्यपरिघातः (Śalya Under Encirclement) — Mahābhārata, Śalya-parva, Adhyāya 12

The verse highlights unwavering resolve in the pursuit of a chosen duty—especially the warrior’s commitment to the battle’s objective—where fear of death is subordinated to determination and responsibility.
Sañjaya describes the combatants as entering the fight with fixed intent on victory, so committed that they have mentally renounced concern for their own survival.
