शल्यपरिघातः (Śalya Under Encirclement) — Mahābhārata, Śalya-parva, Adhyāya 12
अभ्यद्रवन् महाराज दुर्योधनपुरोगमा: । महाराज! दुर्योधन आदि कौरववीर दोनों हाथ और शस्त्र उठाकर महान् कोलाहल एवं सिंहनाद करते हुए शत्रुओंपर टूट पड़े
abhyadravan mahārāja duryodhana-purogamāḥ |
Sañjaya dijo: «¡Oh rey! Guiados por Duryodhana, los héroes kauravas cargaron hacia delante. Alzando brazos y armas, se abalanzaron sobre el enemigo entre un gran estruendo y rugidos como de león: imagen del ímpetu feroz de la guerra, donde el orgullo y el ardor marcial empujan a los hombres de cabeza hacia la violencia.»
