असमर्थ्य समारब्धो मूढत्वादविचिन्तित: । हितबुद्धीननादृत्य सम्मन्त्रयासाधुभि: सह
asamarthya samārabdho mūḍhatvād avicintitaḥ | hitabuddhīn anādṛtya sammantrayāsādhubhiḥ saha
Dijo Kṛpa: «Sin tener capacidad para llevarlo a término, aun así emprendiste esta empresa—por extravío y sin debida reflexión. Despreciando a quienes tenían consejo sensato, buscaste parecer junto a los malvados».
कृप उवाच
One should not begin grave actions without capacity and careful deliberation; ignoring well-wishers and consulting the wicked leads to unethical, self-destructive outcomes.
Kṛpa rebukes a listener (implicitly a Kaurava ally) for rashly initiating an act beyond his competence, done in delusion, after rejecting prudent advisers and instead taking counsel with immoral companions.
