Rājasūyābhiṣeka-darśana: Duryodhana’s Observation of the Consecration
Vidura warns that a king must not let a reckless pursuit—here, gambling—create partiality and a rupture between branches of the same family; righteous governance requires restraint and impartiality.
As plans for the dice-game are being entertained, Vidura addresses the king and openly disapproves of the decision, urging him to act so that no discriminatory split arises between the Kauravas and the Pāṇḍavas on account of the gambling.
