Śiśupāla-vākya: Bhīṣma-nindā and the ‘Haṃsa’ Exemplum (शिशुपालवाक्यम् — भीष्मनिन्दा, हंसदृष्टान्तः)
बहुश: कथ्यमानानि नरैर्भूय: श्रुतानि मे । जन्मकालसे लेकर अबतक इन बुद्धिमान् श्रीकृष्णके जो-जो चरित्र बहुधा बहुतेरे मनुष्योंद्वारा कहे गये हैं, उन सबको मैंने बार-बार सुना है
bahuśaḥ kathyamānāni narair bhūyaḥ śrutāni me |
Bhīṣma dijo: «Muchas veces, una y otra vez, he oído de diversas personas los relatos que se narran repetidamente: las hazañas y episodios (carita) del sabio Śrī Kṛṣṇa, desde el tiempo de su nacimiento en adelante».
