वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights disciplined service and readiness to act under rightful instruction: if the leader seeks a non-violent course, the speaker(s) commit to fulfilling it purely on his word, reflecting ideals of loyalty, restraint, and dharma-guided action.
In the ongoing Sabha Parva episode, the narrator reports a respectful address to a prominent Bhārata hero: rather than rushing into battle, he is invited to state any alternative intention, and the others pledge to execute that plan at his command.
