Pitāmaha-sabhā-varṇana & Hariścandra-māhātmya

Description of Brahmā’s Assembly and the Eminence of Hariścandra

Educational Q&A

Ritual and ethical priority is emphasized: honoring the Pitṛs (ancestral/divine Fathers) is presented as a foundational duty, and their satisfaction is said to lead to the satisfaction of Soma—linking personal dharma (gratitude to forebears) with cosmic/ritual order.

Nārada describes a heavenly assembly where seven classes of Pitṛs—four embodied and three formless—move about in Svarga and, while present in the sabhā, joyfully worship the radiant Prajāpati Brahmā.
