Vasudeva–Arjuna Dialogue in the Aftermath of Dvārakā
न्यवर्तत ततो राजन् नेदमस्तीति चाब्रवीत्,राजन! तदनन्तर अर्जुन युद्धसे निवृत्त हो गये और बोले--“यह अस्त्रज्ञान आदि कुछ भी नित्य नहीं है”
nyavartata tato rājan nedam astīti cābravīt
Vaiśampāyana dijo: Entonces, oh Rey, desistió y declaró: «Eso no está aquí». En su contexto, Arjuna se aparta del intento de apoyarse en su antigua maestría marcial y astral, reconociendo la impermanencia de los poderes adquiridos y la necesidad ética de aceptar el cambio en vez de aferrarse a la destreza de antaño.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
That even the greatest acquired powers—martial skill, astral knowledge, and worldly capability—are not permanent; dharmic maturity includes accepting decline and change without arrogance or despair.
In the Mausala Parva’s aftermath setting, Arjuna attempts to act with his former prowess but realizes what he seeks is no longer available; he withdraws and states, “This is not here,” marking a turning point of diminished power and sobering recognition.
