Even the most potent divine instruments associated with righteous protection do not remain in the world indefinitely; when a lineage’s destined decline arrives, divine supports withdraw, underscoring impermanence and the working of karma beyond human control.
As the Mausala Parva unfolds and the Yādavas approach their end, Kṛṣṇa’s discus—described as Agni’s gift, iron-made with a vajra-like hub—visibly departs upward to the heavenly realm while the Vṛṣṇis watch, serving as an omen-like sign of the dissolution of Kṛṣṇa’s earthly dispensation.
