The verse highlights the Mahābhārata’s recurring ethic that righteous alignment and divine guidance (symbolized by Kṛṣṇa taking the charioteer’s role) make victory ‘dhruva’—morally and strategically assured—whereas mere force without such alignment tends toward defeat.
Saṃjaya expresses certainty of the Pāṇḍavas’ victory, grounding it in the decisive fact that Kṛṣṇa has taken up the role of Arjuna’s charioteer in the battle, which is taken as an unmistakable sign that defeat is impossible for their side.
