प्रायात् ततः सत्वरमुग्रवेगो यतो भीमस्तद् बल॑ गन्तुमैच्छत् । ततो<परे नागरथाश्रपत्तिभि: प्रत्युद्ययुस्तं कुरव: समन्तात्
sañjaya uvāca |
prāyāt tataḥ satvaram ugravego yato bhīmas tad balaṃ gantum aicchat |
tato 'pare nāga-rathāśva-pattibhiḥ pratyudyayus taṃ kuravaḥ samantāt ||
Sañjaya dijo: Entonces su auriga avanzó al instante con velocidad terrible, dirigiéndose hacia la fuerza a la que Bhīma deseaba llegar. En seguida, los demás kurus, sacando al frente elefantes, carros, caballos e infantería, irrumpieron desde todos los flancos para contraatacarlo. La escena subraya la feroz determinación de Bhīma de enviar a los hijos de Dhṛtarāṣṭra al reino de Yama, y el esfuerzo colectivo de los kurus por resistirlo en medio de la ética creciente del deber en el campo de batalla y la venganza.
