इस प्रकार श्रीमह्याभारत कर्णपर्वनें श्रीकृष्ण और अर्जुनका संवादविषयक बहत्तरवाँ अध्याय पूरा हुआ
apaśyaṁ nihataṁ vīraṁ saubhadram ṛṣabhekṣaṇam | droṇadrauṇikṛpān vīrān karṣayantaṁ nararṣabhān ||
Dijo Vāyu: «Vi al heroico hijo de Subhadrā—Abhimanyu, de ojos como los de un toro—tendido y muerto, aun cuando venía hostigando y apremiando a aquellos guerreros, toros entre los hombres: Droṇa, el hijo de Droṇa (Aśvatthāmā) y Kṛpa. La visión de ese noble joven, que acrecentaba la gloria de las estirpes Kuru y Vṛṣṇi y, sin embargo, fue abatido en el apretón de la batalla, me quema hasta los miembros; y juro por la verdad que incluso en este ultraje obraba la intención traicionera de Karṇa.»
