Even amid lethal danger, steadfast loyalty to one’s allies and the resolve to protect others are portrayed as warrior-virtues; courage is shown not merely in fighting, but in risking oneself to save comrades.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that the Pañcāla fighters, though struck by Karṇa’s sharp arrows, continue charging forward with the intention of rescuing the Pāṇḍavas’ side—especially their endangered troops.
