अध्याय ६० — कर्णस्य पाञ्चाल-सोमक-निग्रहः
Karna’s Suppression of the Panchala–Somaka Forces
युधामन्यु: कृप॑ विद्ध्वा धनुरस्याशु चिच्छिदे । अथान्यद् धनुरादाय कृप: शस्त्रभृतां वर:,दूसरी ओर युधामन्युने कृपाचार्यको घायल करके तुरंत ही उनके धनुषको काट दिया। तदनन्तर शस्त्रधारियोंमें श्रेष्ठ कृपाचार्यने दूसरा धनुष हाथमें लेकर युधामन्युके ध्वज, सारथि और छत्रको धराशायी कर दिया। फिर तो महारथी युधामन्यु रथके द्वारा ही वहाँसे पलायन कर गया
yudhāmanyuḥ kṛpaṁ viddhvā dhanur asyāśu cicchide | athānyad dhanur ādāya kṛpaḥ śastrabhṛtāṁ varaḥ |
Dijo Sañjaya: Yudhāmanyu, tras herir a Kṛpa, cortó al instante su arco. Entonces Kṛpa —el más excelso entre los portadores de armas— tomó otro arco. En el intercambio que siguió abatió el estandarte, el auriga y el parasol real de Yudhāmanyu; y Yudhāmanyu, gran guerrero de carro, huyó de aquel lugar con su carro.
