अर्जुनस्य शीघ्रप्रयाणं भीम-शकुनियुद्धं च

ते सर्वेडभ्यद्रवन् कर्ण पतत्रिण इव द्रुमम् । महाराज! विजयकी इच्छा रखनेवाले समस्त पांचाल योद्धा कर्णपर उसी प्रकार टूट पड़े, जैसे पक्षी वृक्षकी ओर उड़े जाते हैं
te sarve 'bhyadravan karṇa patatriṇa iva drumam | mahārāja vijayakāmāḥ sarve pāñcālā yoddhāḥ karṇam eva tathā 'bhyapatanta yathā pakṣiṇaḥ vṛkṣam ||
Sañjaya dijo: «Oh Rey, todos aquellos guerreros de Pāñcāla, movidos por el deseo de victoria, se precipitaron contra Karṇa, como las aves vuelan en tropel hacia un árbol».
