स पाण्डवबलं कर्ण: प्रविश्य विसृजज्छरान् । प्रभद्रकाणां प्रवरानहनत् सप्तसप्ततिम्,पाण्डवोंकी सेनामें प्रवेश करके बाणोंकी वर्षा करते हुए कर्णने प्रभद्रकोंके सतहत्तर प्रमुख वीरोंको मार डाला
sa pāṇḍava-balaṁ karṇaḥ praviśya visṛjan śarān | prabhadrakāṇāṁ pravarān ahanat sapta-saptatim ||
Dijo Sañjaya: Karṇa se abrió paso dentro de las filas de los Pāṇḍava y, derramando una lluvia de flechas, abatió a setenta y siete de los más eminentes guerreros de los Prabhadrakas.
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights the grim ethic of battlefield duty (kṣatriya-dharma): martial excellence and loyalty to one’s cause can lead to immense destruction. It invites reflection on how dharma in war often operates within tragic constraints, where valor and violence are inseparably entwined.
Sañjaya reports that Karṇa breaks into the Pāṇḍava formation and unleashes a heavy volley of arrows, killing seventy-seven leading fighters from the Prabhadraka contingent allied with the Pāṇḍavas.
